As a two-time finalist for the John Locke Institute Essay Competition (Psychology Category) and a participant in Columbia University’s neuroscience preparatory courses, student Page raised a provocative question from a neuroscientific perspective: “When we ‘lose self-awareness’ in a state of flow, does it mean that free will is merely an illusion?” He also shared academic insights into “flow”: why we enter this state and how our brains regulate our decision-making processes. 7.Page is an ambitious, enthusiastic, talented senior student with strong research skills and compassionate hearts.
