Jade relata como ha aprendido a usar su superpoder para lograr desarrollar ideas y tecnologías innovadoras como generar electricidad a partir de biomasa. Jade Fernández Caicedo es una niña científica y activista ambiental y estudiante de la escuela de Juan de Mora Fernández de Santa Bárbara de Heredia cursa el cuarto grado que, a sus 9 años en 2024, obtuvo el primer lugar latinoamericano en el desafío STEM de Science Bits con su proyecto de energía biofotovoltaica. Es embajadora de Guardianes de la Naturaleza y ha sido presentadora en el Festival de las Artes de su escuela. Colabora activamente con la Municipalidad de Santa Bárbara de Heredia, impartiendo charlas sobre compostaje y reciclaje en escuelas del cantón. Durante un año y medio, ha formado parte de la comunidad de Niñas Supercientíficas del TEC, participando en foros e inspirando a otras niñas en las carreras STEM. Es autora del libro infantil “Azulina, una niña azul”, una obra que busca concientizar sobre el TDA. Su pasión por la ciencia, las energías limpias y el cuidado del medio ambiente son el motor de su incansable trabajo.
