Music is the Home of the Soul | Jana Abou Naga | TEDxUAS Kuwait Youth
Music is the one factor of our lives that has an influence on every human regardless of age, gender, personality, nationality/race, or culture/upbringing. It is an active aspect in the world around us; even nature, a naturally occurring element of life, contains music and is affected by it. It transcends any fake or real borders we have created in our world, and bridges people of vast differences, as we all are able to find a connection to music of any form. Humanity’s common ground lies in music, and it is like the home our souls return to as a way of finding peace and reconnecting with ourselves. We turn to music whenever we feel our bodies need a reset whether we realize it or not. It is ultimately the reset setting of our society. Jana is an Egyptian high school student, who is passionate about science, reading, writing, MUN, piano, and gymnastics. She describes herself as a loud and extroverted people-person and hopes to study medicine, with the goal of helping others.
Jana is joining TEDx UAS Kuwait Youth because she feels there is much that goes unspoken. She wants to bring attention to issues that leave gaps in society yet are often ignored. Jana hopes to express her thoughts and emotions on topics both common and overlooked, make a difference, even if minimal and inspire others to find their voices, because if we do not address the problems we’ve created, who will? Felipe Couñago is a medical doctor specializing in Radiation Oncology with a robust clinical, academic, and research career.
