「如果你也在掙扎的話,找到自己的平衡,並且請記住,這不是你一個人的戰鬥。」40歲之前,樂檢的人生好像走在一個順利又滿足家人期待的軌跡上,即使有一些深埋在心裡的渴望,但知道不會被支持的心情,讓他只能隱藏、甚至逃避自己的心情。直到偶然間被選派到日本進行研究,全新的環境,也終於給了他一個做自己的機會......。
回到熟悉的台灣後,樂檢下定決心爲了真正的自己努力,他一步一步計劃,慢慢的讓家人朋友瞭解,即使外觀有所不同,人的本質仍是相同的,他還是原本的他。樂檢說,做自己需要勇氣,但更需要清晰的目標與界限,思考如何在理想與現實之間取得大家都能接受的平衡。在改變的過程中,建立穩固的情緒支持系統也很重要,才得以應對來自外界的質疑與壓力,因爲外界的接受永遠無法百分之百,最重要的仍是自己本身。
樂檢長期關注性別平權,勇敢公開自身跨性別身份,挑戰社會對性別與專業領域的刻板印象。透過自身經驗,他不僅讓社會對跨性別群體有更多理解,也積極參與倡議行動,推動對話與改變。他的故事展現了不被框架束縛的勇氣,並希望以自身經歷鼓勵更多人正視自我、擁抱多元,為社會帶來更深遠的影響。 This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

Dr. Ravidas Krishna Naik is a Project Scientist III in the Ocean Observations and Modelling Group at the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, Goa, India.
