Rewrite Your Story Before the World Writes it for You. | Prernaa Singh | TEDxSt Pauls College
Identity is not what others assign it is what we choose to create. In this talk, Ms Prernaa encourages individuals to take ownership of their narratives, rewriting limitations into possibilities. By embracing self-awareness, courage, and resilience, one can shape a story of purpose and authenticity before external voices define it. The message inspires proactive living and the power of self-authorship. - 10:20The Power of Translation | Avery Park | TEDxBowdoinCollegeClassicists have translated, mistranslated, and retranslated the same ancient poems and stories hundreds of times for thousands of years. Historically, interpretations of ancient texts come from narrow perspectives or agendas of their era, which could influence unintentional or intentional misogyny, eurocentrism, ethnocentrism, and normalization of slavery and other atrocities. Those who possess the power to alter or exclude honest and correct translations come from a variety of sources and backgrounds, and sometimes misalign with the intentions of the original ancient Greek or Latin author. It is important to recognize and appreciate translations for what they are: inherently biased interpretations, and in some cases, retellings of the records of history. Student at Bowdoin College. - 12:01Thinking like a CEO in the age of AI | Rohan Arya Gondi | TEDxOakridgeGachibowliFrom leading India's junior squash rankings to running complex simulations at Yale, Rohan Gondi has lived in two worlds: the discipline of sport and the unpredictability of science. Blending personal experience with insights from systems thinking and research, he explores how to stay focused, resilient, and authentic when faced with too much of everything. An Oakridge alumnus (CBSE 2024) and national-level squash champion, Rohan Gondi achieved a No.1 national ranking in the under-19 category.
