The Unspoken Connection Between Parents and Children | Hyesha Barrett | TEDxAl Qurum

NOTE FROM TED: This talk only represents the speaker's personal views and understanding of inner child therapy and emotional healing. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdfIn this deeply personal talk, Hyesha Barrett explores how our early childhood experiences shape the way we see ourselves, form relationships, and raise our children. Through powerful storytelling and personal reflection, she invites us to look inward—not to stay in the past, but to better understand the present. This talk is for anyone who wants to break patterns of conventional parenting and create a more intentional connection with their children. By learning to recognize and respond to the parts of ourselves that were overlooked in childhood, we can show up with greater presence, compassion, and authenticity. True generational change begins when we choose to listen to what was once left unheard. Hyesha Barrett is a Conscious Parenting Strategist with a rich tapestry of experiences, passions and skills that reflect her diverse background. Born in Hong Kong, having lived in 6 countries and travelled to nearly 100, Hyesha's journey has been a fusion of cultural immersion and personal growth. Educated in France and the U.K., Hyesha's career trajectory has been as eclectic as her upbringing. From journalism to event management, project management, Feng Shui and Energy Medicine, she has honed a multifaceted skill set over the years. Hyesha is currently up leveling her skill set and training to become a Conscious Parenting Strategist, believing that the majority of change can be gained through building a deeper relationship with our inner child, while healing the misunderstandings of our pasts. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
