Dilin kökeni, uzun yıllardır bilim dünyasının ilgi odağında olan bir konu. İnsan türü dil yetisini kültür yoluyla mı kazandı, yoksa bu yeti doğuştan gelen 'görünmez bir organ' mıydı? Homo sapiens, dil yeteneğine sahip tek insan türü müydü? Bu tartışmalı alandaki iki ana görüşü bir araya getiren akademisyen Prof. Dr. Caner Kerimoğlu ile dillerin kökenine ve insanın dil becerisine dair büyüleyici bir yolculuğa çıkıyoruz. 1978 yılında İzmir Bornova’da doğdu. Lisans öncesi eğitimini İzmir’in çeşitli okullarında tamamladıktan sonra 1994 yılında Ege Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı bölümüne kaydoldu. Bu bölümden 1998’de mezun oldu. Aynı yıl Ege Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Türk Dili ve Lehçeleri Anabilim Dalı’nda lisansüstü çalışmalarına başladı. 2001’de yüksek lisansını, 2006’da doktorasını tamamladı. 2012'de doçent, 2018'de profesör olan Caner Kerimoğlu, Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Buca Eğitim Fakültesi Türkçe Eğitimi bölümünde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Janice Chen, co-founder and CTO of Mammoth Biosciences, shares how CRISPR gene editing is transforming the future of medicine. A trailblazer trained in Nobel laureate Jennifer Doudna’s lab at UC Berkeley, Janice is developing powerful new tools that go beyond traditional CRISPR, ushering in a new era of in vivo gene editing that can correct the root cause of disease. Janice Chen is the co-founder and CTO of Mammoth Biosciences, a biotechnology company based in the San Francisco Bay Area that is harnessing the diversity of nature to develop in vivo gene editing therapies. Through its discovery of novel CRISPR systems, the company is enabling the full potential of its platform to read and write the code of life. Janice received her PhD from the lab of Nobel Laureate Jennifer Doudna at University of California, Berkeley, where she investigated mechanisms of CRISPR-Cas proteins and is an inventor of several CRISPR-based technologies. L’espace, en tant que terrain d’apprentissage, offre un cadre unique pour éveiller la curiosité des élèves.Notre intervention présentera les projets éducatifs de l’Agence Spatiale Européenne (ESA), portés en Belgique par ESERO Belgium. Ces projets se distinguent par l’importance accordée aux concepts scientifiques et à la pratique.Dès la maternelle, les enfants s’entraînent comme des astronautes. À la fin du primaire et au début du secondaire, ils découvrent la programmation et envoient leur code à bord de la Station Spatiale Internationale. En fin de secondaire, les adolescents conçoivent leur propre mini-satellite pour un lancement réel. Ces projets abordent aussi des enjeux sociétaux, comme la conception de bases lunaires, soulevant des questions scientifiques, environnementales et sociales.L’espace devient ainsi un levier puissant pour inciter les jeunes à s’orienter vers les disciplines STEM en les transformant en acteurs du développement des connaissances scientifiques.
