She is the first Indian woman to complete a two way swim across the Palk Strait (India to Sri Lanka and back). With dolphins by her side, India's 'aquawoman', Sucheta swam 36 kilometres from Mumbai's worli sea link to the gateway of India. She is a National Institute of Sports- and Sports Authority of India-certified swimming coach who founded the Open Water Swimmers’ Foundation (OWSF), a non-profit organization and open water swimming community where she coaches, trains, and promotes safe swimming while cleaning open bodies of water.
