Friendship Between Different Cultures | Leotrim Deliu | TEDxEspoo Youth
Leotrim Deliu was a Youth Speaker at TEDxEspoo Youth 2025!Have you ever thought about how much we have in common with someone from a completely different culture? In this TEDx Talk, Leotrim Deliu dives into the power of cross-cultural friendships and how they can bring people from all corners of the world closer together. Leotrim shares his personal experiences of building meaningful friendships with people from diverse backgrounds. He starts his Talk with a simple truth: despite our differences, we are more alike than we realize. The real magic happens when we take a step outside of our cultural comfort zone and form connections with others who might not look like us or share the same traditions. In a world that is more connected than ever, having friends from different cultures is not just enriching, it's essential.Leotrims tells us how these kinds of friendships offer fresh perspectives, teaches us to communicate more effectively, and challenges the biases we might not even know we have. He talks about how these cross-cultural connections help us see the world through someone else's eyes and discover things about ourselves we never expected. In Leotrims Talk he reflects on his own experiences of friendship, from his first nervous encounter at a session to forming deep, lasting bonds with people from all over the globe. Cultural misunderstanding may happen, however curiosity and respect can bridge those gaps and turn differences into strengths, not weaknesses. At the end of Leotrim’s Talk he says: “One final thought, we are all cultural ambassadors, each of us here is a representative of our own culture, but we are also something more, we are individuals capable of building friendship that go beyond borders. Friendship between different cultures is not just about learning new foods or learning new phrases, it is about creating a better, more compassionate world, a world where differences don't divide but connect.”Despite the divisions in today's world - whether political, racial, or cultural - friendships across cultures is one of the most powerful tools for building peace. These friendships don't just help us connect with others, they teach us that diversity is something to celebrate, not fear.#TEDxEspooYouth #TEDxTalk #TEDxEspooYouth2025 Leotrim Deliu, studying at Eiran Aikuislukio. - 16:14Why does AI seem to work so well? | Marius Dorobantu | TEDxVUAmsterdamHave you ever interacted with an AI chatbot and wondered how it's so incredibly good? The strange truth is, even the experts don't fully understand why these systems work so well.In this mind-bending TEDxVUAmsterdam talk, theologian Marius Dorobantu dives into the unexpected secret behind AI's surprising intelligence: human language itself. He argues that language is far "more than" just data, it carries a profound metaphysical depth and even an "imprint of our humanity," something theology has been exploring for centuries. If language is such a potent catalyst for both human and artificial intelligence, what happens when we outsource its production to AI systems? This talk challenges us to rethink our relationship with language, how we interact with AI, and how we can use ancient wisdom to understand our choices in a technological world. Marius Dorobantu is an Assistant Professor of Theology & Artificial Intelligence at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His award-winning doctoral dissertation at the University of Strasbourg, France (2020) explored the potential implications of strong artificial intelligence for theological anthropology.Marius is the lead editor of the Routledge volume Perspectives on Spiritual Intelligence (2024). His first monograph, Artificial Intelligence and the Image of God: Are We More than Intelligent Machines?, is in press with Cambridge University Press.
