Trabajó en el entro municipal de emprendimiento, una incubadora de negocios en la ciudad de Guatemala y en 2018 fundó 1bot inspirado en la necesidad latente por innovar el sistema educativo Guatemalteco. Una de sus grandes inspiraciones fue ver como su hermano menor hacía uso de la tecnología y el potencial que se estaba desperdiciando.Juan José ha sido nombrado estudiante emprendedor del año por EO en 2018, reconocido por la revista win como uno de los 33 emprendedores de más rápido crecimiento del país, reconocido por la revista Forbes como una de las 30 promesas de los negocios en Centroamérica y el Caribe, y ha sido aceptado con 1bot en prestigiosas aceleradoras de negocios como Mass Challenge e i3 de New Ventures.
