Redefining Intelligence | Liliy Foroutan | TEDxSt Georges Cologne Youth

In today’s education system, we often hear about the importance of academic success and standardised tests. But, have we stopped to ask: What does this relentless focus on grades really mean for students? Are we genuinely measuring their potential, or simply checking boxes? Does this system help students discover who they really are, or does it push them to conform to a narrow definition of intelligence? Liliy Foroutan is a student at St. George’s The British International School, known for her strong problem-solving skills, open-minded approach, and leadership abilities developed through years of diverse experience. As leader of the Coding Club and Debate Club and an active participant in Model United Nations, she uses her voice to advocate for creativity, individuality, and student empowerment. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
