The Reparenting Revolution | Dr. Ashwini Govinda | TEDxSt Pauls College

Healing begins when we learn to reparent ourselves with compassion and insight. In this talk, Dr. Ashwini Govinda introduces the concept of trauma-informed parenting as a path to emotional resilience and generational healing. She explains how trauma, psychology, and positive practices can transform the way we nurture ourselves and others. Her message inspires a revolution in parenting that bridges science, empathy, and hope. Dr. Ashwini Govinda is a trauma-informed psychologist, researcher, and Assistant Professor of Psychology based in Bengaluru, whose work bridges clinical insight, academic rigor, and creative storytelling. With a specialization in adult psychotherapy for survivors of complex childhood trauma, her practice is rooted in culturally sensitive, emotionally attuned interventions. Her groundbreaking doctoral research at CHRIST University led to the development of trauma-informed parenting modules for unwed individuals with childhood trauma, blending trauma theory, positive psychology, and emotional processing. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
