How BIM is transforming the built environment | Ikhwan Firdaus | TEDxUTM

In Beyond 3D: How BIM is Transforming the Built Environment, Ikhwan Firdaus explores how Building Information Modeling (BIM) is reshaping architecture, engineering, and construction. More than just 3D modeling, BIM enables smarter design, efficient collaboration, and sustainable city planning. Through his own rapid career rise, Ikhwan shows how mastering emerging tools can open doors. Ikhwan Firdaus bin Zaki Yamani is a 22-year-old architecture graduate from UiTM Seri Iskandar, completing his studies in August 2024. Originally from Skudai, Johor, he has a strong passion for learning new knowledge and continuously improving his skills. During high school, he was awarded with Anugerah Kemenjadian ASISS KPM. Due to his excellence, he has also presented a research paper in International Undergraduate Research Conference in 2024. Just days after his final exam, he secured a position as a BIM Modeller at an electrical engineering company with a premium salary, where he applies his expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM). His journey reflects ambition, talent, and the promising future of young professionals in the architecture and engineering fields. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
