Dear Tourette | Haneen Tamimi | TEDxMEU

This talk takes the audience on a unique journey through a dialogue between two characters: “Tourette” a personified voice of the condition and “Haneen,” who once saw Tourette as the villain ruining her life. Through this conversation, Haneen shares her experiences with depression, bullying, and self-blame, ultimately revealing a powerful truth: Tourette was never the real enemy. It’s a story of reclaiming identity, breaking stigma, and turning misunderstanding into self-acceptance. Haneen Tamimi, an awareness activist and an influential voice on social media, is passionate about shedding light on Tourette Syndrome. She was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at the age of seven and began her recovery journey in 2020. Through her personal experience, she spreads awareness, inspiration, and speaks with sincerity and warmth. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
