Teddy: What If Your Phone Could Hug You Back | Esmee Ho | TEDxYouth@YCYWShanghai

In an ever-changing world, self-care remains a sensitive topic within society, leading to many tools becoming inaccessible or overly complex. The speaker aims to change that by bridging the gap between emotional needs and accessible support through Teddy, an app she created with the ultimate goal of improving users' mental wellbeing. Esmee is a high school student studying in Hong Kong, China. In a previous project, her interest in mental health and self-care inspired her to design Teddy, a lifestyle app that aims to make mental wellness accessible, comforting, and stigma-free. Esmee has participated in the HKNETEA Student Innovation Award competition in 2023. She has a deep passion for establishing tools that make people feel seen, heard, and supported. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
