What is the story behind your identity? | Ying (Harue) Liu | TEDxSAIS Youth
Born to Chinese parents who raised her in Japan, Ying grew up as Harue until she moved to Singapore. She has been asking herself the question: “Who am I?” and she now shares her understanding of the circles that comprise her identity. Harue is a Grade 12 student studying for the International Baccalaureate Diploma. She is the president of the Japanese Culture Club at SAIS, promoting inclusivity and diversity based on her experience of growing up with two different cultures. She enjoys the arts, especially ballet and painting, and watching movies. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
