Staying in Beta with Lifelong Passion Staying with Forever Love | Longmiao Gao | TEDxWuxi DSAS Youth
Gao Longmiao has stood on the university music stage for ten years, never letting go of his love for singing. Even through moments of wandering, doubt, and setbacks, he chose to return to the stage—returning to his own “Forever Love.” Gao Longmiao reminds us that true passion does not require a perfect finish line. Even in the darkest times, our deep connections to ourselves, to others, and to the world will continue to light our way. It is this passion that allows us to meet and recognize each other again and again. Miaomiao is a restarted PhD student and a campus singer. After losing his stage and identity when studying abroad, Miaomiao returned to the music community that shaped him to reclaim his passion. He ultimately discovered passion as a vehicle for identity and connection. His story explores living “in beta” and rebooting in courage. Most importantly, he voices his “forever love” out to reconnect us once again. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. - 13:35From Tracing Paper to Graphic Novel | Lesson from a Cartoonist’s Life | AHSAN HABIB | TEDxMUBC YouthWhat if rebellion didn’t come through protests or speeches, but through a pencil? For Ahsan Habib, Bangladesh’s legendary cartoonist and editor of Unmad, every sketch has been an act of rebellion and every line a lesson in resilience. In this powerful TEDx talk, he takes the audience inside his journey — from a young dreamer with a pen to becoming one of the country’s most influential satirical voices. But this isn’t just about his past. Ahsan Habib opens a door for the next generation, sharing how he has always welcomed young artists into the Unmad office to learn, to experiment, and to challenge the status quo alongside him. Through his stories, he shows that rebellion doesn’t always need anger — sometimes, it needs laughter, creativity, and the courage to draw what others won’t.With warmth and humor, he invites today’s youth to pick up their pens, to see art not only as expression but as a tool for change, and to remember that revolutions often start with the simplest lines. This talk was delivered at TEDxYouth@MonipurHighSchoolandCollege (TEDxMUBC) under the theme Revolution by Rebellion.Ahsan Habib is Bangladesh’s most celebrated cartoonist and the long-time editor of Unmad, the country’s iconic satire magazine that has shaped generations of readers and artists. With a career spanning over four decades, he has turned humor into a powerful form of social commentary, challenging norms and sparking conversations through his pen.Beyond his cartoons, Habib is a mentor and teacher, having guided young creatives at Daffodil International University and invited aspiring artists to the Unmad office to learn directly from his team. His journey—rooted in resilience after losing his father in the Liberation War of 1971 and moving across cities during his youth—reflects his belief that creativity can be both rebellion and healing. From writing science fiction and satirical poetry to designing covers and graphic novels, Habib’s work continues to inspire. At TEDxYouth@MonipurHighSchoolandCollege, he shares not only his personal story but also a call to young people: to pick up their pens, question the world around them, and dare to sketch their own revolutions.
