From Rain Dreams to Climate Reality | Sameer Majali | TEDxBirla Intl School Youth

In an age of climate change and ecological imbalance, we must rethink what true progress means. From tree planting to community-driven eco-awareness, the journey reveals how deeply interconnected our lives are with forests, rivers, and biodiversity. It emphasizes that our choices—whether in tourism, development, or daily living—directly impact the planet, urging us to break conventional boundaries, restore balance between what we take and what we give back, and leave a legacy of care rather than depletion. Sameer Majli is an ecologist and social entrepreneur dedicated to ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation, and rural livelihood development. As founder of Green Saviours Association, he has led the planting and maintenance of trees for 488 consecutive Sundays, creating models of long-term ecological stewardship. His work integrates native species plantation, biodiversity awareness, and sustainable income generation for rural communities, with a special focus on the Western Ghats. He continues to champion harmony between nature and people. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
