Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Healthcare | Peter Koopmans | TEDxROC Nijmegen

When we think of healthcare research we often envision medicine of the future, the discovery of new cures for untreatable afflictions. But perhaps we should also wonder whether we, in 10-20 years from now, will still be able to cure what we can cure today. Our healthcare systems are bursting at the seams: the demand is skyrocketing, costs are rising and staffing shortages are crippling. In this TEDx talk, Peter Koopmans discusses the possibilities of using AI in our hospitals to achieve healthcare sustainability and how recent AI developments aim to address our common fears for Doctor AI. Peter Koopmans is an MRI physicist who develops techniques for higher quality and faster imaging, ultimately aiming to improve the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of healthcare. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
