He played a key role in India's IT and engineering sectors, serving as NASSCOM Chairman (2015-16) and founding T-Hub, India’s largest startup incubator. He has chaired IIT Hyderabad and IIT Roorkee boards and contributed to policy-making in India's technology sector. He has mentored startups, supported innovation-driven initiatives, and advocated for industry-academia collaboration. For his contributions to industry and education, he was awarded the Padma Shri in 2017.
